We were so excited when we got the inquiry from Chelsea & Will. They chose one of our favorite new venues and it was going to be our first wedding at The Gin!
They traveled down to meet us in Bryan and after just a few minutes of chatting, we knew they were going to be the perfect couple for us. We didn’t get to do an engagement session with them since they opted for a really cool Polaroid photo session. However, we did get to see Chelsea about 6 weeks before the wedding day for her bridal session. It’s always so much fun to get a sneak peek before anyone else. It gave her a chance to trial hair and makeup and make sure there wasn’t anything she wanted to change before the wedding day. The hardest part of bridal sessions is keeping the photos from everyone leading up to the wedding.
May finally rolled around and it was finally time for the wedding day! They chose to get married on a Friday, and if we’re being honest, Fridays might be my new favorite. There’s nothing quite like waking up the morning after a wedding and realizing it’s Saturday and you have the entire weekend to recover and get to editing. We showed up to The Gin and immediately get to shooting all of Chelsea and Will’s beautiful details. The light in the bridal suite, The Seed House, was absolute perfection and is probably our new favorite bridal cottage. There was so much natural light, which made our job a breeze. The groom’s suite, The Cotton House, is the perfect contrast to the light bright bridal suite. The Cotton House is the perfect blend of industrial meets modern. The reception area took place in the main room, the heart of the 1950s cotton gin.
The ceremony was set at The Silos, inspired by the styled shoot we created just a year prior. The semi-circle floral arrangement was the perfect backdrop to the dreamy sunset ceremony. Heather & her team at Epoch Co. couldn’t have timed the ceremony more perfect. It left us just enough light to snag some sunset portraits right after the ceremony was over. Chelsea and Will, thank you so much for giving us the honor of photographing your wedding day! We hope you enjoy reliving the day as much as we do!
